"What's going on with my body lately?!"
Our hormones can influence far more than we realize, and understanding the bigger picture can help us meet our bodies with a little more clarity and compassion.
Women often start experiencing what feels like new symptoms in their late 30s and early 40s, and often don’t immediately connect these symptoms to their hormones changing.
Hormonal fluctuations can show up in confusing ways, and it’s not always easy to understand how they influence us. While hot flashes and night sweats are well-known signs of transitioning into perimenopause, many women experience less talked-about changes, such as brain fog, fatigue, insomnia, digestive changes, low mood, worsened allergies, crawling sensations on the skin, joint pain, increased sensitivity to stress, or dry eyes, mouth, and nose.
In this gentle workshop, we'll explore how hormonal changes can affect the way we feel and why their effects can be difficult to make sense of. We'll also touch on the cyclical nature of women's bodies and how perimenopause marks a new season within that rhythm. Through conversation, reflection, and simple practices, we'll explore gentle ways to support ourselves through these changes.
This event is for women who are curious about our cyclical nature, experiencing changes they don't quite understand, or already navigating perimenopause. It is an opportunity to connect with others going through similar experiences and find more compassion for yourself as you move through this season of life.
You'll leave with:
- A better understanding of hormonal changes throughout your cycle and perimenopause
- Gentle practices to support yourself at home
- A pamphlet for further exploration
The workshop is facilitated by Dr. Elin Linder, a social anthropologist and postdoctoral researcher exploring the lived experiences, care, and medical contexts of menstrual health, with a particular focus on perimenopause.
Please wear comfortable clothing suitable for gentle floor-based movement. All props are provided. No previous experience is needed.
