Learn the foundations of a drawing practice and reclaim the essence of the human form in this immersive figure drawing workshop.
With a live nude male model as your muse and soft charcoal and paper as your tools, you will drop in, study the human form and draw your interpretation. The intention of this class is not to draw a photorealistic portrait, but instead to shed perfectionism, to embrace the life and energy of the human form, to reach a meditative state of flow and to develop a deeper understanding of yourself in the process.
This class is for all skill levels. All materials will be provided.

Since childhood, Gail (@gather_with_gail) has had a deep passion for drawing, using it as a medium to express and explore the world around her. She appreciates the beauty and vulnerability of the nude human form, and aims to foster spaces where it is celebrated as a timeless subject of art. As a natural connector, she thrives on bringing people together through unique, enriching events that encourage thoughtfulness, mental stimulation, and creative exploration, especially for those who may feel that creativity was never a strong suit for them.
@artfulmalemuse is an LA based figurative art model and movement artist. With a background in performance studies, he operates at the intersection of performance and visual arts. During figure drawing, there is a unique blend of audience, stage, performer, and performance. As a movement artist, he performs poses while the audience (the artists) perform visual art . Capturing this snapshot in time, with a translation of 3D into 2D is where creativity is formed. While working nude, @a rtfulmalemuse confronts social norms with a commentary on the human form sharing in vulnerability with the artist. He has worked with private groups, artist groups, educational institutions, and animation houses across North America including Dreamworks, HeavyMannersLibrary, & The Boston Museum of Fine Arts.
